Hello! And welcome to Friday!

Christmas Cookies foodiecrush.com

It’s Christmas cookie time! I was just chatting with my Aunt Jill who, like me, makes my mom’s sugar cookie recipe every year. My mom got the recipe from her friend Diane Anderson when I was just a wee one and it’s been part of the family ever since. Isn’t that just the best thing about recipes? They’re sharable not just for eating and enjoying but also for becoming part of other’s family memories.

Holiday parties are the time for reconnecting with family and friends or meeting those you don’t know (hello co-worker’s wife) and that means plenty of small talk. Keep the conversation moving (and not just about yourself!) with these 12 tips to make you better at small talk than most.

Life is so fragile and it goes by so quickly. Unless you’re Dick Van Dyke who will soon be celebrating his 99th birthday. It’s what makes this Coldplay music video all the better, and you MUST watch to the end when Chris Martin writes a song on the spot that will floor you (as it did Dick Van Dyke.) Next level talent X 2.

This new movie looks so fascinating. I love Amy Adams.

Spending a lot of concentrated time with big families over the holidays (as much as we love them) can be a bit much. Here’s a trick to enjoying big family gatherings.

It’s sweater weather and I stocked up:

  • I bought this open-weave sweater and my daughter liked it so much she asked for one for Xmas too. (Hurry! 30% off thru Saturday!)
  • I also picked up this loose-weave sweater in blue, but the cream is pretty too (and it isn’t sweaty or itchy.)
  • And I’ve shared this sweater before, but I love it so much I bought back-ups in black and grey.
