Hello and let’s say hello to Friday.
Holy moly. The past few days’ events have had soooo many of us in need of some sweet sugar comfort food. Wow. I lived in Santa Monica/Venice/Los Angeles for 15 years so while I’m not a native Angeleno, like so, so, so many others who’ve lived there, I have millions of memories and connections to the city. My heart breaks for LA and everyone affected by these devastating fires. It’s unbelievable. One thing to remember, those who live there and have lost aren’t just the affluent Malibu and Pacific Palisades residents. It’s also the middle-class, every day, non-fancy folks who have had their lives ripped apart and need support. Here’s how how you can help.
The evacuations reminded me to create a list of what to take if I needed to leave my home in a hurry. I live in the foothills of Salt Lake City’s forested mountains and directly on the Wasatch Fault predicted to have a 7.0+ magnitude earthquake within the next 50 years. There’s no better time to be prepared.
